1.9 ROCKERS are ON!!!! Mod days are cool!
Yesterday at a Illinois grand prix mod day I had a hand full of parts installed.
Intense gen3 Rockers 1.9
Oil Restricted pushrods
105 Ib. valve springs
Autolite 104 double plantinum plugs gaped at 55 (2 range colder)
PRJ wires- MSD boots and 10.4mm Taylor Race wires in black with grey clips
Fellow GP member (ALEXGTP) installs rockers for $75 but gave him 100 cause he was a good guy and didn't know that I had new springs which made it take much longer. These were his first set of new gen 3 rockers. He thought they were very nice, but the Instructions could use some work. Took about 6 hours only cause we took lots of breaks and were BS'ing alot with everyone, he did a pulley swap too in the middle for ten bucks for another member, he'* a good guy to know. Only problem that we had is that he dropped 4-5 retainer clips in the grass, did this in a front yard, and took a while to find some of them. We actually had to "borrow" some off some stage 3 heads sitting in the garage of a GP member waiting to go on, getting him some new ones this week. we didn't find 2 of them.
All the GP guys liked my ssei and kept asking me why a relocated my battery to the back seat along with the fuse panel. "came stock that way" some didn't believe me. Recomend all to join there local grandprix club and go to a mod day and just hang out, most didn't do mods, came to eat, drink and socialize. Girlfriends, wifes, kids and dogs all came by. Had around 25 cars in this guys driveway and yard. Good time. I also ripped out the back seat and threw on some more dynamat on the rear seat areas and working down towards the floor, going to do the whole floor when I pull the seats for heated seat install.
LOVING THE NEW ROCKERS!!! The high end power difference is quite nice, the butt dyno diffently goes along with Rouges +23.1 WHP dyno of just rockers. The car has much more pull accross the rpm range and keeps pulling hard all the way to 90ish. Highway driving is MUCH more fun, the topend differences seems huge!
Now can't wait for my TOG headers and PCM to come shortly, hopefully within a month or so everything will be on. I'm just itching to go to the track, might go one night this week if I get off work early.
Oh ya, and my boost was 10-11 according to my last A-tap by Rogue 2 weeks a go and now the gauge will peg most of the time so 9-10psi now. Nice that I meet some local guys with A-taps who are glad to lend a helping hand for some tuning. ILGPC rocks!
Here'* some pics from the day. Look how much stuff I got in the front yard.

Looks awesome Taylor. I knew you would love them. I love them so much its going to be hard to give them up when i get a cam. At least the 1.6 adjustables are out now and those can go in when I get the cam . Mod days are great, can't wait for June, thats when COCGP is doing ours.

The valvesprings definately make it take MUCH longer. It is a lot easier to do it without the springs, just not that great of an idea. It sounds like you are really starting to enjoy the way that thing runs. Once you get the headers & PCM that car is gonna FLY. I would bet on mid-high 13'* if you can figure out how to launch it. You gonna drop down to a 3.2 pulley when you get the headers???
Those clips that hold the springs on are so small they are a PITA. We have always used a telescoping magnet for them and just don't take them off the magnet. We have only ever lost one of them, and luckily it was in the garage so it was easy to find..we didn't have to look through the grass. Those things really are hard to keep track of, and IMO they should send a few of them with the valvesprings just for situations like that.
The 105# springs kinda seem a little overkill, but I bet you don't ever get any valve float!
You know if you keep modding that thing as much as you are now, your gonna start making the GTP guys jealous!
