Default Acrylic air box

Is acrylic ok to use for a CAI box? I went to Lowes today looking for plexiglass but I found clear acrylic sheets instead...

the difference between plexi and lexan is that lexan can be a little bit harder to work with but you dont have to worry about it cracking like you do on plexiglass.

If/when I make an airbox it will be made of lexan most likely.
