Hey gang, I have installed my 180 and it still seems to be running at the 200 mark.
It never goes over 200 but it didn't before either. Is this normal or no??
Needin some answers.

I think GM makes the temp gauge sit at 200 for the most part even if the coolant is 190-210. Because engine temps will fluctuate I believe they did this so consumers wouldnt be worried about a bouncing temp gauge. Your stock fan points are in the 215-225 range so even if your coolant started to flow sooner (cooler tstat) without programming your pcm would not command the fans to come on until much later. For this reason you will still average temps in the 200 range.
PCM coding can set your fan temps to match your t-stat thereby keeping your coolant/trans temps much cooler.
