exhaust round 2

ok, dont mind the music and stuff in the background. My new setup is a 4" round magnaflow muffler in place of the resonator and out to 2 thrush welded mufflers with 3" tips. Let me know what you think....

Kind of hard to hear good. But from what I here it sounds like a nice deep tone.

thanks...it took me a while after switching back and forth between so many mufflers but this setup is my favorite. I had flowtech afterburner mufflers, dynomax the regular ones, and these thrush. And ill tell u these thrush really impressed me alot. I was wondering, its still kind of loud in the cab of the car, if i were to get like a full 22" glasspack like a thrush, or flowtech or whatever kind of glasspack, will it absorb some of the sound in the cab of the car?

The longer the glass pack the quieter. But tone usually still comes through. And if you romp on it, even the longer ones "wake up"

cool, but should i even bother buying a glasspack to quiet it down a little with the interior resonance? Or just jave a shop put on a universal resonator ( i called a shop and they said they can do it for 60 bux)?

Not real keen on exhaust, other than what I've heard from different set-ups of my own and others. But it seems to me your exchanging the OEM resonator for a 4" Magnaflow is why your now having the interior resonance. I always seem to just delete them. Putting a resonator back in it's place will most likely take care of it, but then you lose quite a bit of rumble in the back.

Danthurs 01-12-2009 11:48 PM

The resonator removes the raspyness. If your not very raspy then no need to install a glasspack. The deep cabin drone comes more from the muffler. However, another person had installed 2 glasspacks in series and that really toned it down.

thanks.....man, i wanna get rid of the interior drone but without loosing some rumble from the mufflers......hmmmmmmm
