No Mufflers.....
Just yesterday we finished taking off both mufflers on bonnytrek'* GTP. It is now running straight pipes with a cat and resonator. Its not that loud outside the car but inside it is. I can seriously say I think it has gotten slower. Is that possible? Or is the power just higher now.

A muffler is a pretty key part of a vehicles exhaust system. I would consider putting something back on. Once you remove a part of a system that is designed power will be lost.
The science behind it..I dunno, but put the muffler back on

Well losing all that back pressure will definitely make you feel a loss in power, especially low-end. I would guess you should have more high end though. But cars are designed with mufflers in mind so taking them off, especially without a ton of mods, wouldn't help IMO.
Stock cars on the other hand don't need mufflers.

Your engine MUST have a measured amount of Backpressure to provide a suitable amount of compression, which in turn produces torque..ie...power/hp at the wheels..

Bingo. It'* a fine art, balancing low end torque and high end hp with an exhaust. That'* why most of us stick with stock sized piping, and performance mufflers. You gotta be running a TON of boost to make up for the difference.

So then why do people with camaros or mustangs run cutouts with a seemingly increase in power??? Or do v8'* produce enough power that the backpressure is inconsequential.
