I've been wanting to solid mount my CAI forever, I like the idea of the intake not having a restrictive "kick" thrown in it when the connector flexes under load. The only problem I've seen in that design is that the TB to Upper connections are a little slim for mounting a CAI, So I figure I could mount it to the car, get the motor to quit moving so much and be golden, plus it would help me on a little project I've got going.

How much would it limit the motors' movement?

Are you 00+ guys running into any problems?

Anyone have experience with a solid on a 92-95?

I don't have experience with your model year Bonne but I have to tell you that I love the solid motor mount.
I limits the motor movement to 1/10th of what it was before. The only noticeable movement now is the entire subframe. :P



PDad just did the same with his 00 and loves it too.
I've had it done since the winter with no problems at all and the original designer has had his for over 50,000 mi.

Just a slightly noticeable vibration of the rear view mirror....but most stereo'* will shake it more.

How are you planning on doing this Dame? Would you touch the dogbone on the passenger side?

there'* a rubber mount on the front drivers' side... it has steel mount plates. I have 2" square tube and a welder. Should I do the dogbone too?

I don't know how you could really do it right now, i'd have to look at it.

Ever considered adding some that lookl ike the GP style? That'll keep it rocking forward for sure. But you'd have to reinforce the top of the rad area...

After looking at GP mounts and seeing that the poly kit cost $100, I like the steel idea better. If ya want I'll write down my measurements for ya...

Well my idea was you just brace the front of the engine to the front of the car, with maybe a little play Not sure if that'* a good idea though....

how much does your engine flex?

with the broken mount? I have a new dent in my hood (and I am sooo.... happy i was running my f'd up beige hood at the time it snapped...)

when nount worked? i thnik like 2" max, at the TB.
