I am so, so sorry........but.....
Every year at about this time, I get the urge to put some $$ into my bonne. Usually, after weeks of researching and saving, something breaks. So, instead of modding, I'm repairing. It looks like this year may be my year (knock on wood). I'm pretty well tuned up (plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, air filter, pcv valve,....). OK. First I'd would like to apologize to the moderators, administrators and regulars for being the 1millionth person to bring this up (do i win a prize?). Cold Air Intake. Remember, I already said I was sorry.
So, I've searched the forums and probably read most of what has been written. The way I see it I've got three options:
(1) Find a K&N intake that will fit bonne $200~
(2) Find a cheaper pre-made substitute like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/92-Bo...QQcmdZViewItem $33-To good to be true?
(3) A Complete DIY job $0-75~ and I've got access to an arsenal of tools.
What to do? And let me thank in advance anybody who can stomach replying to another intake post. It must get old....I just hope I can do this before something breaks

That eBay filter is indeed too short, and the filter won't even be a good paperweight. Not to mention that, but $33 IS too good to be true. Look at the shipping costs.
Add shipping in, and you just bought the RX4750 which will make installing a REAL CAI/Heatshield much easier, and AJUSA has free shipping.

Bad link. How about a pic? And you might want this for reference:
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=55971
It shows the diameter of your TB for coupler choice. 3" should be the ricer pipe from AZ or wherever.

No. That won't allow any flex. The pipe has to be able to flex at the coupler. As the engine flexes, the pipe will rise. If it hits your hood, the coupler flexes taking the load (stress) off the throttle body which is attached to a plastic upper intake manifold in your case.
Aside from that, you need a 3.5" to 3" or 3.25" to 3" reducing coupler. Measure your TB or use the numbers I linked to in my other topic.

Get some flexible tubing, the 3.5" stuff intense sells works for a L36 I guess. Get small piece of 3.5-3.75 tube(a polycarbinate water bottle works. Use a paper cone like one for a 98 Chevy pickup. Using cardboard as a template make an aluminum box to isolate the filter. Total cost, less then $50.

First of all thanks for the help. I'm still having trouble with this silicone coupler. Looking at the chart here:http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=55971
I see my TB diameter being 3. 65", now considering the rice pipe I get is 3", I need a 3.65">3" Silicone reducer correct :?:
If this is correct, then I cannot find one that fits these dimensions. At least not anywhere I've looked.
P.*. Ajusa is offering $5 off a $50 purchase, so I may pick up the RX-4750 for about $45.
