6 speed transmission
Found this on another site where they got it to fit into a Fiero and a Cavalier. Both had series 2 L67'*, not sure what pcm they used though?
I figure the stats might come in usefull if nothing else.
getrag f40/mt2 6 speed transmission
this is the transmission used in the pontiac g6 gtp with the 3.9l 240hp v6.
Type: transverse front wheel drive, six-speed manual transaxle
Engine range: 3.9L HVV6 (LZ9)
Maximum engine torque: 245 lb-ft (333 Nm)
Maximum gearbox torque: 295 lb-ft (400 Nm)
Gear ratios: MT2
First: 3.77
Second: 2.04
Third: 1.32
Fourth: 0.95
Fifth: 0.76
Sixth: 0.62
Reverse: 3.54
Final drive 3.55
Maximum validated gross vehicle weight: 3527 lb (1600 kg)
Case material: aluminum
Center distance: 197 mm
Fluid type: Castrol BOT 0063
Transmission weight: 56 kg (123.5 lb)
Fluid capacity (approximate): 3.1L / 3.27 qt (dry)
Power take off: no
Applications: Pontiac G6
what is already know for swapping this into a H-body
good:
-it has a small gm bolt pattern so it will bolt to any v6 (2.8/3.1, 3400, 3500, [b]3800[/])
-master cyl from 93+ and a clutch line from a 2000+ j body will work (easy to find used)
still unknown
-clutch- i know this tranny went to a different spline input shaft and the g6 uses a different flywheel, so the g6 clutch wont bolt up. Some custom machining needed here.
-axles- looking at some pics, i think stock axles may work. however this is just speculation. i know this tranny has been swapped into a fiero without custom axles.
-shifter/cables- looks like you will need g6 stuff, wich is kinda hard to find used, so dealer may be the only option. may however be able to use 2000+ 5 speed stuff.
-mounting- the g6 uses a bottom tranny mount some fabbing will be required.

Could you link the Cavilier swap?
They had at least a half a dozen fireos running around with them. I have been following a few threads over on pennock'* fiero forum about them.
Basically v8 Archie makes a kit for Fieros with v8s and v6s. They won't really tell you what you have to do for obvious reasons but there are a couple threads that go into detail about what you have to do. (for a fiero)
The trans takes a dual mass flywheel, the clutch spline # are kind of a unique number, the axles are tough to mix and match and you can modify 5 speed shifters to work.
I'll go looking for those threads..

There is more info on the site but it'* scattered.

My info came from a group buy thread at bcgme.ca but the swap is at a now dead J-body site :(
I will ask around for the author and see if he has any pics or like threads else where.
