Flowmaster vs. Dynomax
Need some opinions. Local Muffler Shop is going to put a cat back on my Bonny for resonable $. Problem is...Manager #1 says go w/ the flow. Manager #2 says dynamax is much better sound wise for a 6. Of course it'* my desision but, sheesh. How the hell do I know. Do I go w/ the name product, or is the dynamax really better sounding? Also, what sounds better on our cars, 40, 50, 60 series, decisions, decisions! And what series of dynamax would I use, have no clue the diff there? Anyone care to join in?

myself, i have a flowmaster 80 series on mine with a dynomax hi flow cat. it honestly sounds like a v8 under the hood.
also , here is something to concider, why are they doing a cat back exhaust? we have 2 1/2" mandrel bent stainless exhaust, mine is a 92 with 150,000 on it and had my muffler and cat installed on my existing pipes last feb. and still in great shape. there is no way you can get a better flow from a compression bent exhaust, honestly, if they replace any of the pipes, they will be down grading your exhaust and will defintly rust out in the future.
also , here is something to concider, why are they doing a cat back exhaust? we have 2 1/2" mandrel bent stainless exhaust, mine is a 92 with 150,000 on it and had my muffler and cat installed on my existing pipes last feb. and still in great shape. there is no way you can get a better flow from a compression bent exhaust, honestly, if they replace any of the pipes, they will be down grading your exhaust and will defintly rust out in the future.

WOW! I never thought of that! Actually I hate to say this, I didn't know that! Thanx for the info, hell I owe u one too. Too bad I'm sort of a dumb ***, and can't offer u any advice back. I was about to screw up there.

we are here to help each other. that is why the club exists. a year ago, this was my first supercharged car, but with the help of this club and its members, it gave me something to shoot for and do some R&D for the sake of the series 1 owners.

Thanx again! What I like most about this group besides the tech, is no matter the question, even from, let'* say, mechanically challenged like me, no make u feel stupid remarks. Very respectful of each other. That is freaking awesome. Again thanx, and I will be asking ALOT of questions, so much so, that u'll all prolly smack me! But I ain't doing shi-it w/o asking first from now on, so I don't do something silly!

not a problem, the only stupid question is one that isnt asked. no matter what it is, like paint, intakes, stereos, even head lights. we have people here that can cover anything.

The only time I'd consider doing a cat-back is on the SE, with the 2.25" piping, but even then only if you're heavily modding.
The Dynomax, Flowmaster, and Magnaflow all flow within 5 % of each other, with the magnaflow coming out on top by a slim margin. With the mufflers being that close, pick your sound.
