Default L67 Throttle Body Improvements

I put the TB on tonight, by itself without any other mods to keep from wondering which mod added how much performance.

At low speed WOT there was a different sound and feel. The best I can do to explain the sound is that it sounds like it is trying to suck my K&N out of the airbox and through the throttle body. (I wonder if the filter will burn when it gets to the combustion chamber).

Tossed a couple of codes around. One regarding TPS, which is expected when swapping things around. And a few occurrances of one particular code. This code proves that the PCM sees more air and learning how much more fuel is needed to compensate. Lean Bank 1 P0171... More air than fuel.

If necessary I can swap my FPR to compensate with additional pressure.. only if a couple days of driving doesn't learn in the proper fuel though.

At the top end...there is a noticable difference that is tough to describe beyond saying that the pull is greater and smoother.

The MAF screen was also removed at the same time.

My buttdyno says that it feels better.

Hey Wren

I did.

I shaved the throttle shaft just like Don'*. To reduce cross-sectional area at WOT and reduce turbulence from 5% to 85% throttle angles. I also lightly polished the bore.

Similar but slightly different results than Don'* L36 TB that I did, as would be expected considering the different types of aspiration.

I still have an L27 TB ready to go. But I need to select the right car and owner first.

I'd like a Northstar willing to play. Any volunteers?

What style L67 TB was this done on? a '99+ style TB or a '96-'98? If on the older style don't you think their would of been a gain just in swaping TB'*? and even bigger gain in porting it?

Interesting that you ask what style.

I thought it was a 96-98...however..I had 2 and didn't pay much attention. This one has two vacuum ports on the side and I needed to plug one. Whereas my 97 only has one port.

Not sure if that makes this a 96 or 99...it'* not a 97..that much was for sure.
