Electric Turbo Air intake! never seen this before!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Turbo...item2306f505f9

sounds like a gimmick. dont think this would work with a MAF sensor

Danthurs 05-10-2010 07:36 PM

The junkOmeter is flashing like crazy here. It's junk, junk, junk.

yutzybrian 05-10-2010 07:44 PM

Hahaha I like how they put that the dyno results were sent by the customers. Means they're not liable if you don't have the same results. I've heard of these before. Freaking joke.

raptor660 05-10-2010 07:46 PM

The $hit they try to pull on ebay!!! like the performance Bonneville Chips. Increase HP by 275hp and 75 mpg! LOL. "REAL RESULTS". How do these people sleep at night?

rjolly87 05-10-2010 07:46 PM

Hrmmm . . . I wonder if I can blow all the leaves off my back porch with it . . .

Danthurs 05-10-2010 07:47 PM

A full bank account will make just about anyone sleep.

raptor660 05-10-2010 07:49 PM

Is that why i cant sleep at night? im to good of a person.

Danthurs 05-10-2010 07:51 PM

Or your bank account is empty.

raptor660 05-10-2010 07:53 PM

my bank account is empty because im to honest. lol

Dargasonus 05-10-2010 08:53 PM

Those aren't powerful enough to push more than is getting pulled in, so its just a disturbance in your intake and will cause you to LOSE power.

crunkfrunk 05-10-2010 10:13 PM

Besides causing a disturbance the vacuum of the engine will burn out the motor

Purplehazeir 05-10-2010 10:16 PM

With all that HP gain you certainly wouldn't want to accidentally install it backwards. You might end up sucking the car inside out from the tail pipe to the intake! :D

GXP Venom 05-10-2010 10:16 PM

In an n/a engine it cant spin fast enough to keep up with the CFM your naturally aspirated engine sucks. So it kills performance till the extra RPM of flow burns the unit out. With a supercharged engine, I'd be afraid of sucking the plastic fan into your rotors. hehehe. You have to get real about modding your engine, or save it for beer money at least.:thumbup2

Yea but I think we all know how silly ricers can be :D

Danthurs 05-10-2010 10:28 PM

Saw a ricer on pass time once. they asked if he had any power adders. He said yes, a electric supercharger. That car flew down the track for a mind boggling 14.5

Wow if I was one of the contestants standing there I would be laughing my ass off. I would probably be disqualified for that round because I'd be laughing to hard to enter a time.

Danthurs 05-10-2010 10:37 PM

I know I was laughing. What a clown. There was another show where two ricers came up and the host said you lost part of your car. The front was all gone

SmokedYa2 05-23-2010 11:12 PM

i have one of these and it works great!!

its on my boat and clears the air from the engine compartment prior to startup, LOL

Danthurs 05-24-2010 08:11 AM

Hard to see where your going with your hood up like that.

yutzybrian 05-24-2010 10:01 AM

Umm did someone forget to put some of the bolts back in?

cracker 05-24-2010 02:06 PM

the weakest link in a honda is the block lol, im more of a DSM guy with the sport compacts. ha found a pic of a impala with dual electric umm blowers, but its from another forum and mixed with a bunch of random funny pics from carlisle 2010. let me know if its cool to post that link here lol. dont wanna thread jack

boostedponty 05-24-2010 10:27 PM

wow talk bout a restriction electric blowers ok haha

knifed 05-30-2010 01:34 AM

I tried this about 8 months ago, same part, same seller. 98 Bonneville SSE N/A. Lost power, lost a lot of acceleration, not to mention the unit was junk out of the box. The plastic "blower" has a plastic flange that would be attached to the air filter cone, I ended up JB welding it on and cross clamping it to hold it in place because it had a huge gap in it from the factory.

Turned around and tried this on a 1.0L geo metro, same results. I couldn't even blow leaves with it :(

SAMzGXP 05-30-2010 02:51 AM

cheap junk like this never works lol

Danthurs 05-30-2010 08:47 AM

It's to bad you found us a little to late. There's a lot of products that claim big results, and none of them deliver.

Mike 05-30-2010 10:14 PM

Maybe we should start a thread in Techinfo about what products DO NOT work Dan.

Add that little 2 wire chip that gives you 25 to 75 more HP.

Danthurs 05-30-2010 10:19 PM

Well, we covered the 3 biggest ones, the chip, the tornadoator, and the electric supercharger. Should we add the type R sticker to the list? Another waste of money joke is spark plugs, no need for a $25 spark plug.

sseidriver97 05-31-2010 09:01 PM

how in the hell would an electric motor in your intake increase handling???

it sucks air in so fast that it decreases the amount of air traveling over the car thus reducing drag. LOL

Danthurs 06-02-2010 07:40 AM

Makes perfect sense to me.
