spark plug issue
A guy brings a 93 jeep into the shop, he bought this jeep with an older 350 engine already in it. He complains that it has a hesitation when acclerating from a stop sign or at a low speed around town. Now this motor has an electronic igntion on it, with what looks like a 650 or 750 edlebrook carb on it, also with what sounds like a mild beefy cam in it. he bought it this way and is not sure what size cam is in it. but the issue he is having jus started a few days ago. after checking timing it looks to be 31.5 degree'* advanced. and the spark plug that i took out of the #1 cilynder is very black and is CR43TS delco.. my question is that, is that plug to cold of a plug for that motor? or is there something else that i could check?

i dont know edelbrocks but seems rich at off idle i would see of there is an adjustment. i would put some new plugs in(not sure about jeeps with sbc for heat range) my experiance is with racing when you are only worried about wot. could watch the idle timing make sure the vacuum is hooked up right and the advance comes on smooth from idle. it seems a little low total timing should be 34ish, i run about 36 in my firebird
