I need new breaks on my car, and I’m looking in to putting F-body calipers on. Has anyone done this? And what all do I need? I assume I need the Caliper brackets but what else?

I'm not really familiar with the brakes from the F-Body, what size are the rotors? Stock fronts on the Bonnevilles are 12" rotors. If the rotors from the F-body are bigger then you can make a bracket to adapt the Caliper from the F-Body to fit into the space of the stock ones.

That stuff is for a Gran Prix, you need to be careful because most of that stuff will be different from ours, the easiest brake upgrade is to go to GXP front brakes, they are also dual piston aluminum calipers.

For starters, let'* get the basics out of the way.

What year and model do you have? Anything prior to 2000, this upgrade won't work unless you change knuckles etc. 2000 it may, I'm unsure as I've never seen someone do it. I have a set of the F body brakes on the shelf at the moment, if you need measurements I can hook you up. The issue should be spacing for the bracket and or if your existing bracket would accept the bolting pattern from the F body caliper.

Tommy Gloves did it, I put DTS calipers on my bonneville which are 12.7' rotors and dual piston like the GXP brakes.

I worked with ZZP to get stainless braided brakes lines made for the 00+ H-bodies.

The front lines fit great...no extra slack, no binding or tightness. The rears fit perfect.

When installing the front lines, you have to reuse the front stock bracket to hold the brakeline away from the tire/wheel. I pryed the bracket open with a screwdriver/prybar. I used a piece 2" piece of 1/4" I.D. fuel hose, sliced down the center to cover the new line. I sprayed some WD-40 to slide the black hose into position in the bracket. Once it'* in the bracket, the friction between the black hose and the clear covering on the brakeline prevent it from moving.

The rear lines are a straight-forward swap.

The caliper kit includes everything you need to mount up the calipers. No need to drill and tap the brackets. They bolt right up.

I also did a complete brake system flush and replaced it with fresh brake fluid.
