Dropped a pulley size today

Well, it's pushing 80* outside, so I figured it's a good day to check my summer tune. Here's a scan with my 3.0" pulley.
Attachment 24137

My timing is low, but I set it there to be safe. I have no KR under WOT even with the higher temps.

So I dropped to a 2.9" pulley.
Attachment 24138

Looks tiny.
Attachment 24139

Compared to a stock pulley.

And here is another scan with the 2.9" pulley.
Attachment 24141

My boost went up by almost one pound. My timing went up a little as well. AFR is a little lean and still no KR under WOT. I had one small blip of KR at the shift point, nothing to worry about. When I get a chance I'll have to bump up the timing a bit. Right now I'm at 13*-17* and would like to get it at 15*-18* or even a little higher.

wow a 2.9 with little to no KR! thats my dream lol.

yutzybrian 05-30-2010 11:41 AM

You go too much smaller on the pulley you'll have to modify the snout lol

Great job Dan, it amazes me that you don't have KR

Danthurs 05-30-2010 12:10 PM

That snout has been turned down, so I should be good down to a 2.6" I think.

yutzybrian 05-30-2010 12:53 PM

Ahh ok then. It didn't look like it to me but I guess that means the job done on it was good for it to not be noticeable

How are you getting 26.69 PSI? ? ? ? ? ? ? :D

Danthurs 05-30-2010 02:44 PM

Subtract atmospheric pressure from that, My peak with the 2.9" was 27.42 at my elevation it's 14.4 so that's 13.02 pounds of boost. About as high as you want to get. I could push it to 14 psi, but I'm already running hot. I watched my IC coolant go out about 20* after getting on it a few times.

Duh, I forgot that I changed mine to BOOST, which was just map minus the 14.7psi

Danthurs 05-30-2010 04:00 PM

I'll have to do that on mine, just never paid attention.

Post up your function string, mines not working right, I'm wondering if I'm using the wrong PID
