All I know abou the 4.3 in the Chevy *-10...my buddy Rico has one, and he squaks out of every intersection. Lots of power and RWD, its a recipe for disaster in Canada, snowy wnters and no weigh on the back, driven by the rear wheels....no
Nice truck tho

I owned three of them all at the same time. A 92 Blazer, 93 Chevy K1500 (5 spd) and a 20' ski boat with the 4.3 liter merc (wish I'd had that cam in the truck). Great engine. It'* a 350 with the front two cylinders chopped. 262 cu/in. As much of a workhorse as the venerable 350, but in a lighter truck. Don't go for the older *-10 with the 2.8liter. They were dogs, and had lots of gremlins.
This is the largest displacement production V6 made, and spanks all comers in the truck/suv categories.

KICK @$$!!!! Thats awsome!! I really want a rear wheel drive car with power. :P
I live in Michigan so winters could be a slight problem , but i could always get some winter tires. I like that its a light truck, so it should handle well on dry pavement.
I'm not really interested in towing anything, just accelerating like a scalded deer.
Do they only sell the really fast ones (190 hp or so) with the 4 speed automatic? (5-speed sounds fun)

Depends on the year you get, too. I think the Vortec 4.3 came out in 95 or 96? Yup, VERY mod friendly. The only drawback may be the final drive ratio. Remember, it'* a truck.

That is the one bad thing about *-10'*, they've got the same "glass" rear end the F-bodies do, but like everything else, it can be fixed.

Consumer Reports said the rear end bounces alot on bumps with no load in the bed. I figured somone would mention that.
F-bodies? (sorry, i'm dumb)
