Default Possible looser steering??

This is not a problem or anything but I have noticed that my steering wheel has a little more resistance than I like. I dont really notice it untill after I've driven other cars. I have no trouble driving or anything. I would like my steering wheel to be easier to turn. I have no idea how to do this or if it is even possible. Thanks in advance for any help.

yeah, I've noticed my '97 steers easier than my '93, I've been told the '93 has "memory steer" where if you make a hard turn either way it will pull that way for a liitle bit. It has something to do with the bearing (bushing?) in the steering being worn out.

btw, its really helpful if you put the year and model of your car in your signature

We really need to know the year and model you're talking about. There were different steering racks.

Please put that in your sig. It'll help alot

Whenever we find out about this, I'm game for some easier steering. I'm looking for 1-finger easy movement at idle. I sure as hell ain't got that now.

DJ, you want a rack from an SE. Easier 1-finger steering, but not as 'responsive' at speed as the SSEi rack.

2000 and higher can be adjusted with their magnasteer 2.

I happen to like the stiffer steering. I noticed that with a wider tire it gives me this. I like to be able to "point" the car and have it go there without having to correct it.

Does the SE rack still have variable assist so it will tighten up over 20mph like the SSEi'* does?

I don't believe it does, but I could be mistaken on that. jr's3800 would be the one to answer this question. He knows more about steering racks than probably anyone here.
