If you look in your car manual it describes in good detail what that function does, basically in perf. mode, you shift later, and down shift sooner, while getting higher rpm's than that of you would in normal shift.

performance shift gives quicker downshifts and prettty much is a gas guzzler swtch

Oh, shit. Here we go again.

PERFORMANCE SHIFT, if your car is equipped, allows it to shift where a car WITHOUT this option would shift.

NORMAL shift is a lower RPM shift for efficiency. So Joe, your car shifts where mine does in Performance shift, assuming you don't have the option.

It provides efficiency for the SC models. This was tested and proven between my car (with the option) and Jseabert's car (without the option). Both are 93's. His is an SSE (NA).

Adding this option to a car will NOT improve performance, but will improve efficiency.

Good to know i'm not missing out.... :P

Allmachtige 10-16-2003 02:37 AM

Efficiency? What on earth is that?

willwren 10-16-2003 02:38 AM

Drive to OR. We'll both fill up. When you run out of gas, I'll come back and show you my fuel gauge.

Then you'll know ;)
