smaller pulley for supercharger
I am think of putting a smaller pulley for my car, It is a 95 SSEI with the series 1 engine. The only pulley that I found is a 2 1/2" pulley, It is 1/2" smaller then stock. The thing that I am wondering is that if I switch the pulley how would the car drive?I know that it will make it faster but what boost will I be running at? Do I have to put higher octane gas or is 93 good enought? Will it do anything to the idle?

Here are some that I found for my '95 SSEi. http://www.pulleyboys.com/
I found a post a while ago on another forum that suggested not useing anything lower than a 2.4 or so. It had to do with the supercharger reaching over 16,000 RPM (not by much). 16,000 RPM is the highest suggested operating RMP for the Eaton M62. The site also had mentioned some gains vs pulley size if I remeber right. I have it bookmarked at home so I will see if I can find it tonight and I will post it as well.
Hope this helps.

What mods are done to your car ?? Since Eaton superchargers are known to create a lot of heat, you don't want to run into KR values too high. If you've done intake,Exhaust, T-stat, Plugs, Wires, then go for it..

They have one listed for our cars.
Pulleyboys has 'em listed for the M62, but for IMPORTS? They don't mention our car. WTF?

I have looked into this and the reason you don’t see the Bonneville stamp on anything is they don’t make a specific pulley for the car yet. The market is tiny. As the market grows and the SC price gets cheaper, well you will see more options. I want to have pulley boy’* product on my site but I have to work out conflict issues around Thrasher and other companies. Also if you look closer at a different store you will find there is a product and if you look even closer you will find the maker and the price charged by the maker is even smaller than the store price you found. Now PulleyBoys are the providers of there own product so there price is always the price quoted on the site. I believe that pulley boys are a good product, but I would drop them an e-mail to make sure the pulley you are considering will work with the Bonneville. Also will is on with the water injection system. I cant wait until “will industries” lets me sell it on my site. LOL

I have install my own cold air kit with a 3" filter and hose. I am going to do the exhaust with 2 1/2" pipes into a dynomax muffler and duel out. everything else is stock but a full tune up has been done.
with what everybody have said. I can run a 2.4 pulley and still be safe and run on 93 octane.I will email pulleyboy and find out witch pulley will fit on the car.
thanks for your help
