Any mods for a Bonneville 88 SSE?
I was wondering what type of modifications you can do to an 88 SSE to increase HP. Also wondering what companies/websites offer such products. Thanx.

Talk to Jim W. He had an 89 SE with a Magnaflow muffler (sounds amazing). There are several options if you want an intake. A lot of members are currently looking into making one. I will give directions on one I made a few weeks ago.
And pop a 180 thermostat in as well. There are several performance mods for these engines. You'll find a lot of ideas here! Welcome to BC

why a 180 theromo stat? wants worse gas mileage? that mod is for supercharged cars, so that when they put a smaller pully on and the KR goes up, that helps it go down a little. heat = knock, 180 tstat brings the heat down a little, your car makes its most power and best air fuel ratio when its hot and in closed loop

All cars benefit from a colder intake charge, with no detractant to mileage.

yep, cold air is more dense, more air = more power. but that 180 t stat will drop underhood temps by, maybe 10* tops, not very much, that in combination with the tiny amount of time that the air spends in your engine bay before going into the TB and then combusting ( maybe 2 seconds ) that air going into the combustion chamber is now, what? 1/6 of a degree cooler? .2hp? .3hp? thats being generous

I'm with Don. No 180 stat will make a mileage difference (unless there'* a contribuitng factor....something else wrong), and may increase the life expectancy of the drivetrain and it'* components.
