Exhaust set up
I searched the threads here about dual exhaust. Lots of stuff in there.
My question is this, do you run a high flow cat from Magnaflow and a Magnaflow muffler off the single pipe from the crossover pipe back to the tips or do you actually run dual pipes with dual cats?
The muffler shops will mount the cat and muffler off the single pipe but will not run true duals for me around here. Something about EPA rules.

you don't need true duals. Not really a possible way to even do it with the way the undercarriage is. Replace your stock cat with a magnaflow high flow cat, leave your resonator alone, and then use an f-body muffler to create your duals. The muffler will have 1 inlet and 2 outlets.

For sound and performance is the single pipe to a dual muffler OK?
The car has a current dual muffler outlet like in the pics. It is as quiet as a church mouse!LOL
If so, I can get the exhaust done in 1 day and pretty cheap too!

Anything you do to your exhaust to reduce pressure loss will increase noise in most cases.
There is a dramatic increase when you remove the Cat. Larger volume mufflers will reduce backpressure but not increase the noise too much.

I did the same as haro, Single In Dual out Flowmaster. I'm not sure you could fit two mufflers, just replace what you have. There is really no performance gain from and aftermarket muffler, its all sound.
If you want sound I'd suggest Magnaflow or Flowmaster 80 Series.
Performance, do like what was mentioned, Magnaflow Cat

Well, let me ask this. What kind of sound are you looking for? Raspy? Throaty?
You have a lot of options and the one your looking at may not be what you're looking for.

I like deeper sounds. Throaty I guess?
Does the stock cat have a lot of resistance?
I am pricing the cat today. It is on the list for March'* upgrades.

Ok,
I got some prices and the Magnaflow installer said these things to me...
1. Use the 2.5" Center-Center Spun Metallic Catalytic Converter. part# 59956
He said this was the highest flowing CFM converter they had and would be ideal for */C car.
2. He wants to remove factory resonator after converter and install pipe from converter to muffler.
Pro'*/con'*?????
He suggested I go ahead nad replace the muffler and add tips. He wants to use the magnaflow Firebird/camero muffler with 2.5 in and dual 2.5 outs. He said this would be a great sound.
I am unsure if it will be too loud and not sound right for the type of car.
Any sound clips of this type of set-up????
I am going to install the 1 and 2 recommendations next month unless am told otherwise.
I will do the muffler later as is was another $400 for muffler and tips.
He recommended using a pressure system to remove carbon from intake/valve train/injectors. I am not sure it really works though and don't want to plop down extra $100 unless it does.
All advise only makes my car better. Thanks
