crossover pipe
 

Just curious, anyone running a ceramic coated crossover pipe? If so was it worth the time and money? Thanks :D

I had one and it still got plenty hot.. IMO its not worth the $.
Just wrap it and spray it with header wrap sealant.

Actually 95NA..I remember reading an article that had been posted on ZZP's site regarding a Regal guy that did testing of stock/wrapped/ceramic coated.

The wrap was deemed to be the worst of them all for heat issues.

ADTR did some testing and showed that it was beneficial. The idea here is to MAKE it hot. HOLD the heat in to increase exhaust velocity.

Wrapping traps moisture and can be a problem over time.

ADTR also tested flow numbers on 3" and 4" pipe?

I wouldn't take ADTR's "test" results.

I would. But I know more about it than you. At the time they tested 3, 3.5, and 4" intakes, our cars weren't flowing as much as they are today dame. ;) Now SOME of our cars are better with a 3.5".

ANY exhaust component will benefit from ceramic coating. Anything you can do to hold the heat in will increase exhaust velocity. That's why ADTR used to sell coated crossovers and downpipes.

Straitor, I gaurantee you don't know what you're talking about (you may recall he was my co-admin at the time?), but it's off-topic anyway. They went with a BIGGER MARKET. We only had 500 members at the time. :roll:

Back on topic. Any exhaust component will benefit from higher velocity by coating. There have been issues in other markets with wrapping cracking headers and trapping moisture.

You got it. ADTR did the coated crossovers/downpipes. Good guy. Good parts.

DP did garbage and raped people's wallets, including my own. Scum. Domestic Performance.

A coated crossover in the long run isn't going to make power. It'll help within a SYSTEM. If you're going headers or PEM's, the coating will add benefit. By itself, you'll never be able to dyno or 'track' the power.
