What is "Perform Ride" and who has it?
Heres the story:
I was having some problem with my "Perform Shift" and "Normal Shift" buttons. It was always stuck in "Perform Shift". So I went to the junkyard to buy a new button panel. Well, to my surprise, the guy had a '94 SSEi that was rolled. Well, the button panel had 2 extra buttons on it. There is "Perform Ride" and "Luxury Ride" or something. What do those do? He told me that if I had a connector to plug into the 2 extra buttons, then to do it. I bought the panel for $23 and am going to install it right now. BTW: i have a 93 SSEi and the panel is from a 94. Could that be why i don't have it? Anyway, it sounds cool but i would like to know what it is. i am going to put it in now.

Here'* the scoop. Luxuary Ride softens the suspension to give a smoother ride to the car. This is used more so on highways. The Perform Ride makes the suspension stiffer for cornering and more agressive handeling, but a slightly bumpier ride.
The switches will plug right in but I don't know if they will work. I believe (not positive) that you need more than just the switches. You may need speacial suspension components or other parts to use them. I thinl all Bonnevile from 92-99 had the option for it but not very many actually had it.
Your best bet is to take the two extra switches and wire them up for something different like neon lights or brakelight kill switch. Just a thought.

I have the selectable suspension option on my 99 SSEi. IMO I notice a considerable difference in the ride between the two modes. I perfer the performance mode, a little stiffer and less 'bounce'.
