Definitely recommend you go with a 180 F stat.
Drilling it will depend on where you live. If your winter temperatures drop to freezing or below, you shouldn't drill more than one or two 1/16" holes in it. In fact if it really cold like in Canada, don't drill any. Your heater won't warm up your toes very well.
The drilled holes benefit is only to take longer to warm up, like when you are drag racing. The downside for everyday driving is that the engine stays in rich loop longer and your mileage will drop 1 or 2 mpg.
I now have a 180 with 4 holes in it and I plan on removing it before winter with a 180 with 1-2 holes or none, I haven't decided yet.
Check the vendor links in this forum. You can get a 180 in most. ZZP, GrandPrix store, Bonneville Attitude, 3800performance, Autozone, etc..... all less than $10.

Unless you are planning on heavily modding your car the 180 t-stat is going to be your best bet, like silverbullet said. I would drill 2 holes in the t-stat personally, 4 is good for summer months, but horrible in the winter, and none is good in the winter, but not very good for the summer, so 2 holes is the perfect compromise.

Excuse the dumb question...I've read a lot of ppl have drilled theirs. I haven't drilled mine and am thinking of doing it.
But where exactly are you drilling these holes?

See the pic. You can buy them direct from ZZP.

Thx Bullet. I'll prob. drill 2 holes in mine. (Winters here never get colder than 0-5 degrees that often)
Another stupid question...what'* KR (it'* late and I don't want to think)
Also, when I start my car, and race it no more than 2 minutes later, I fly faster than hell! Doesn't this contradict what ZZP said? Or did that only apply to "icing" the charger or upper intake and racing it after doing that. Thx.

Just be very careful not to push the engine too much when it'* cold or you might spin a bearing.
