hello , im new to the site , i have a question . i have a 95 ssei with some issues, i was wondering if possible what all do i need to do a series 2 swap?

A series 2 L67 from a H-body will drop right in and bolt up. But, the the torque converter bolt pattern is different. You'll either have to use the stock S2 L67 torque converter or drill your flexplate to accept the smaller bolt pattern of the 60e'* converter, or run a L36 flexplate (they have the same size converter bolt pattern).

You can modify the stock harness or modify a 95 L36 harness (less work) to work on the S2 L67 and get a custom chip burned by Sinister Performance (Sinister Performance, LLC.).

There is also some nickel and dime stuff like: The throttle cables are different, A/C lines are different, heater hoses have to be trimmed, and maybe something else I'm not thinking about.

FWIW I swapped a L36 into a S1 L67 car.

I helped swap a S2 into a 90. However we did the entire drive train from a donor and had everything ever desired.

A converting connector was made for the firewall items and the S2 wiring harness/pcm was used. Overall it was fairly easy noting the items 95NASTA metnioned and add to it the cruise control was vacuum controlled in the 95 SSEi and electronic in 96+ S2'*. Overall an easy swap though when the entire drivetrain was done. .

im looking at using the motor and tranny from the s2 since my tranny has a bad case of tcc

now my series 1 supercharged is done so is the tranny, i was thinking of making the car track only with a series 2 or series 3, gut the hole car and stuff , i need a new tank , so i was thinking of running a fuel cell, problem solved, now to the question at hand


If i rip out the tranny and motor what do i need to do to convert

series 2 or 3 motor
tranny
engine harness series 2-3 ?
engine ecu from the same motor
tranny ecu from the same donnor

keep in mind i dont need anything to work inside the car but a aftermarket tach
does it just all plug in or do i need to cut and splice wires?

Easiest and most cost effective will be a Series 2 motor and it'* trans. Get the axles, wiring harness for the engine bay, pcm. You will want to pay attention on the transmission that it has 3 or 4 bolt bosses on the back of it where the rear trans mount (driver side) hooks up. If those bolts are not there..the case will crack if trying to use only one bolt.
