Ok so I have owned this car for two weeks and have been babying it to day i stoped on the street turned off tracion control and jumped on it it smoked the tires for about 5ft then it upshifted droped rpm to 2ger so i thought that sucked so i put it in low and jumped on it again and it did the samething . the car has lots of power. why is it so bad off the line?

Being the tire burning street demon that I am.(3 sets of tires @ 36k miles.) All the above is true. Just turning off TractionControl doesnt completely disarm StabilTrack. This combined PCM/ECM/TCM complex system pulls timing/starves fuel as well as directs power from side to side. Pulling one front wheel speed sensor will help further disable this. The tranny will shift itself if you reach a certain point, regardless of your gear choice. I like to find a "sweet spot" not quite at a WOT to get really nice display.
At least You SSEi members can get a PCM with all this control flashed out of it.
Here'* an example Danthurs knows about

You would need to do a lot of tuning to remove this.
Torque Management, Max Torque vs. Gear, Max Engine Torque vs. RPM vs. Gear, Max Torque vs. Gear, Max Torque vs. RPM, And several other settings.

Overall like Dan pointed out..torque management owns you. It'* there to keep your transmission happy and safer as the engine is capable of much more power than the stock transmission can handle.
You will notice that the more you beat the car and try to spin tires the more it learns your heavy footed ways and the quicker it'll pull the power out from under you.
Intenes-Racing sells a off the shelf pcm that allows much more power to be put to the wheels w/o as much torque management. Cost is around $100
If I had 2002 unlocked, i'd offer to help out..but it'll be another $200 before it'* unlocked. (Full year or nothing Dan =0))
