Club members with S&S Headers

Just want some info on the S&S headers. Who has them? How do you like them? What would I have to modify to make them fit into my car? The S&S website only has Regals and GPs as compatible cars, but I swear I've seen people use them here. Give me the rundown!

sorry to hijack this a little but didn't they use to be $400??? there 517 now.

big_news_1 12-12-2004 10:35 PM

$517 is with a cat converter, I believe. Hijack attempt thwarted!

Argh! I am mistaken! Sorry about that, memory served me wrong. It's usually better to just check at the source anyway.... hehe . Well, the hijack is still thwarted!

check clubgp.com

nobody here has them i think. Most people over there like them.

Sorry, I guess I should clarify a little. I'm interested in Bonneville applications for the S&S headers. I want to know if they would work on an H body with an L36 or not. Just curious. While I'm at it I should also ask you guys what kinds of headers that are intended for GPs can also work on my car, i.e. if I went to clubgp.com and looked for some headers, what would work on my car and what wouldn't? Thanks.

All headers should work on you car no problem. You have more room from the engine to the radiator than the W bodies. And the rear clearance shouldn't be an issue at all. You will have to get the header's downpipe welded to the rest of your exhaust no matter what you get though.

So basically anything that works on the Montes, Regals, GPs, etc. should work on our H bodies (3800s of course)? The only issues are clearance issues with the smaller cars? Aren't there any differences in engine compartment configuration or underbody configuration that would affect the fit? Don't get me wrong, that's awesome if I can go out and buy just about anything for a Ser. II and have it fit. I just want to make sure. I'd like a set of headers in the next year, so if I find the right price I might jump on something.

most aftermarket headers are for the W-body guys. The only thing that you will need to adapt the W-body headers to the H-Body is the tranny dipstick. You will have clearance issues with the H-Body and you will need to install a W-body one

I thought the W body guys had problems with the dipstick?
