hey..that is designed for a grand prix with the infamous 3800..duh. my question is if that would be fine on my car? That is soo cheap ( 27$ ) and i already have my K&N cone so that would be a cheap easy install... and an upgrade from my 3" PVC lol... What do you guys think?

here's the direct link..

..thanks.

I've got it. It works. But I put another 45 degree PVC bend on it to put the filter right behind the headlight.

Engine bay is much shorter, why not just save up and buy the mandrel bent ADTR?

BonneAlien 09-20-2003 10:25 PM

B/C i'm not gonna spend 200 more $$ on something that's not gonna make that big of a difference.

If you add a home made cold box your unit will outperform an open filter. If you want help with it drop me a line I can help you with cheap box ideas.

Y'know, I'm thinking you could get the same thing at Home Depot for under $10 (off the top of my head, I haven't checked)

Looks like a 3" 45 elbow, a flex joint, zip ties and a couple of pipe clamps to me. If it works, GREAT!! But save yourself some S&H, print the pic, head to your local home improvement store and shop around. Almost all of it will be in the plumbing aisle.

Yes.

I can now help and yes I make ceramic-coated units. I will be finished with a few designs soon. The cold air portion is the main issue. Anyone can put a filter on the end of a tube. it should be more than a shield. A plastic or steel shield that is not somewhat sealed does not control ambient temp. The cheaper way out that does work is to use a Tupperware or plastic box that fits in the area and then cut it appropriately. It can look good if you add thermal matting or other type of liquid insulation once the unit is made.

Cheap and it will blow away any open cone filter.

I can make you a intake for very little money. Send me a e-mail at domesticperformance@comcast.net and I will send a list of measurements i need. Then I will send you a unit. Yours will be cheap the pipe will be free but shipping and coatings will cost some. Mine uses a ceramic coating. I don’t need money up front though so you can pay me later. Drop me a e-mail I will explain.

Actually i work at menards..and we do have some stuff for it..but i dont want to depend on rubber shit and pvc when it comes down to it.. I'd much rather have the real thing, ya know? ..and 27 $ is not that big of a deal man, haha.
