Default Performance chip for 1992 SSEi...are there any??

Hey guys...just me again.

I burn my own chips for the TGP that I have and was wondering if there was a performance chip for the 1992-? SSEi Bonnie'*? All that I would need is the .bin file and I can burn the EPROM myself. Anyone have a .bin or a chip they might want to loan me to copy?? I would be willing to burn a few copies for you in exchange for your loaner.

Thanks much...KennyK

Actually it'* the only chip Hypertech sells for Bonneville'* period. There are no other ones. Jet also makes chips for 92-94 Bonneville SSEi'* (none for N/A anymore) and for 97+ Bonneville'* (all makes). I don't believe they are going to give up their programming so you can burn your own chip.

What is TGP? What else do can you burn?

Contact Fastchip. E-Mail them to see if they have anything for your car.

Man, go with Jet. I couldn't be happier. It'* a piggyback, so there'* no burning possible, but for the price, it was WELL worth it.

So what are the websites for the Performance chips you guys mentioned? Are we talking major noticeable gains with these chips or just a little more boost and fuel?

A TGP is a 1990 Turbo Grand Prix http://www.netavalanche.com/tgp/ . Pontiac only made them in 1989-1990 with the help of McClaren. 3.1 V-6 with a T-25 turbo (stock boost 8.5 lbs, now running 12lbs). Only made with 4T60 Automatics, but a very small few of us have done a 5-Speed Getrag-282 tranny swap. I have been learning how to build a performance chip for the 5-Speed and have been having a blast doing it. There is a guy who has made a performance chip for the Auto cars, but he is charging an arm and a leg for them!! Good motivation for me to make my own chip. As far as other chips for specific cars I do not do but this guy does.... http://mwbackus.home.attbi.com/main.htm His name is Mick and has helped me tremendously with my efforts and he is sure to help you if you wish for other applications. Tell him KennyK sent you if you would please. I am not really interested in purchasing a chip from someone in all honesty, just looking for the .bin for use in this car for a good selling point. It is a very nice car, but like I had said I don't intend to keep it..

If you want a Jet chip, talk to Hector (99BonnevilleSE).
If you want a Superchip, call them up! Don't just order it online. (www.superchips.com)
And I advize AGAINST Hypertech for a chip.

I noticed your are a moderator on the TGP forums. Anyways, I understand, I am sure people want an arm ais Mick and has helped me tremendously with my efforts and he is sure to help you if you wish for other applications. I noticed your are a moderator on the TGP forums. Anyways, I understand, I am sure people want an arm and a leg to do a custom chip for your car since so few exsist and such. There are people on here with Jet chips and perhaps Hypertech (1992 SSEi) but I do not know if any will give it up or have "extra" ones laying around for you to capture the .bin file. Doesn't hurt to ask. You can search the site and see who has those kind of chips in their signature.

Those are cool cars. Played with one a while back. Great design especially with the T25 turbo for quick spool up time and such. I had one guy who wanted to buy a T3 Turbo from me for a little under $200 from a TurboCoupe. I can get those turbos for pretty cheap and the rebuild kits as well. Gotta love SoCal and being 5 minutes from Turbonetics Main Facility. Cool that you did the 5 speed swap. Good luck in your search!
