L36 vs L67 comparison pics
Here are some side by side pics of the L67/L36 rods, wrist pin, and pistons. L36 is on the left:

Page 3 has more pics, if someone knows how to post them, be my guest.
It may be hard to see in the pic, but the L36 is about 80% of what the L67 is. So if you figure that a stock L67 block can handle 9s, the L36 shouldnt have a problem in 11s. The L36 rods seem to be beefier in areas the L67 isnt.
Either way, I feel this shows that the L36 is more than capable of handling more than what most modders will throw at it. Wether it be */C boost or Turbo boost, and if staying N/A no-one will max out an L36 bottom end. IIRC the fastest stock bottom L36 is still Wes at 13.35????
The balancers are pretty much the same (N/A has no grooves for */C belt-DUH!), and flexplates are identical other than the TC locations (some L36 vary slightly depending on yr).
There'* what some of you have been waiting for-ENJOY!

Awesome info, could be get you to possibly get some closer pics to really show the difference. I know it'* been a topic here lately and knowing that there isn't much of a difference will help some with research.
On that 80%, that'* wrist pin or overall pin and rod?

Great pics, it'* nice to see the rods side by side.
Are the caps of the rods interchangable by any chance? They look almost identical.
The stock L36 shortblock has been pushed pertty far. 12.6'* n/a and 10s boosted.

one of the things the L36 has that the L67 doesnt is a little better of a rod/stroke ratio, not as drastic of an improvment as say a factory SI or a SI tall deck with SII pistons and custom rods, but every little bit helps to reduce the friction of cyl wall thrust loading
just keep the bugger out of detonation and the L36 pistons and wrist pins should be fine
though i have found a few area'* in the oiling system that need attention primarily the pump housing passages and the 2nd and 3rd main oil passages are restricted at the cam bearing shells, i am still working on the max dia i can drill the passages before i break through the main webs

all SII blocks are cros bolted caps on 3 of the 4 mains
