Bonnie vs GP PCM
My question is this: If I have two GM cars from the same year and both are SE'* and Pontiacs. Can I swap PCM'* out? Will that PCM in turn run the car its swapped into more agreesively or about the same. The reason I'm asking this is because the stock PCM from my GP GT/SE is sitting on the floor of my room. Just got this wild hair up my but and thought I'd ask about this. Was wondering if it would drive my Bonnie SE any faster.

I am pretty sure it wouldn't even hook up, but if it did, I HIGHLY doubt it would help your performance any...now if it were a DHP PCM that would be different, but the stock PCM'* are close enough that you probably wouldn't notice a difference. I also know that if you put a GP PCM in a Regal it will run fine, but you won't have any guages but your speedometer, so maybe it will fit and you will lose guages or something.

dbtk is right on. You may have options that the GP didn't, or the other way around. Also remember the hp and torque ratings are slightly different. The PCM'* are each tuned for their respective stock setups.
The GP has a more restrictive exhaust than the Bonneville. Your gear ratios are probably different too, so your shiftpoints will be all screwy.

Hummmm........ Wonder what the final drive ratio of the GP GT/SE 3.8ltr. tranny is vs the Bonne SE 3.8ltr. :?: Aren't they both 4T65E trannys? Agian both cars are 1998'*.

SSEI has final drive ratio is 2.93 :1
SE is 2.86 and available with 3.05:1
SLE standard drive ratio is 3.05:1
