Default Went to track tonight, new PB for SSEi & GTP!!!

So we went to Mid-Michigan Motorplex tonight for the test & tune. We brought both the GTP & SSEi. We ran the SSEi only 2 times, and the GTP only 4 times. Usually we get in 10 runs with just one car. Anyways, the first time we ran the SSEi it had two people in it & the traction control was on (that was accidental). It ran a 14.690 @ 93.XXmph. Then when just my mom drove it (no experience at all, never driven down a dragstrip ever) with the traction control off it ran a 14.681 @ 94.80mph. When I have the slips available I will post them.

Now for the GTP. The first run it pulled a 12.92 @ 10X.XXmph (don't remember), then it pulled a 12.73X @ 108.XXmph, then it backed that right up with a 12.73X @ 107.XXmph (I think), then after we let it cool down for about 1 hour it ran a 12.621 @ 107.13mph!!! Hopefully with a little more tuning (the car was running rich, as always), and a better launch (I think it was a 1.81 60' or something like that), a little cooler weather (it was in the high 60'* the whole time), and with the 2.45" pulley on, and not the 2.6" like tonight, we should be able to get the time down a little more.

So to sum all this up:

SSEi: 14.681 @ 94.80mph
GTP: 12.621 @ 107.13mph

Anyways, we had fun, just thought I would post. Oh, yeah, I forgot to add, the GTP got over 37mpg on the way to the track!!!

Did you run the race gas to get the 37mpg? Just curious?

Yes, we have to run the race gas for ~50 miles or more to let the PCM learn it. But, I can also say the car was not being driven for gas mileage on the way there, we were definately letting the PCM learn a little WOT.

I didn't think it did too bad. My dad was VERY happy, and also very happy he didn't break anything. I didn't get to run the car, because the track won't allow it because I don't have my drivers license yet. I am getting it next friday (hopefully), and the day after that is Michigan Grude Match 4 with the Michigan Grand Prix Club, but I will probably be driving the '90 Turbo Grand Prix, assuming we fix the boost problem before then. (It doesn't get any boost at all) I was also at the track with my auto tech class because we were running our "racecar." It is a '72 (I think) Corvette, with a SB 350 in it, and it uses street tires, and doesn't have paint on it, just primer. It runs high 14'* on a good day, so its not like I had much time to drive the car anyways. That is one of the reasons why we didn't get very many runs in, and why the car was running ruch, because I didn't have much time to run the autotap before I had to do something for my "race team."

Do you know what a stock 2000 SSEi looks like? And a stock 2002 40th Anniversary GTP? Because that is what they look like. I can get pictures, but I will have to take them, because we don't really take pictures of the cars, since they both look almost completely stock. I will hopefully have timeslips very soon though.
