Very nice, I'm interesting to see your progress. Just like you I have to wait another 2 weeks until I can do SOMETHING other than punish my poor brain.

call me the old thread reviver

okay, so this is several months since the original post on this, but since i noticed that in your sig, the donor is no longer sitting on the floor, would it be prudent to assume that you've made some progress?

I've got an idea for your rebuild. Your gonna need longer pushrods for the decrease in material on the cam. BUT y not deck the heads (you would have to find out how much) to compensate. You would be raising the compression and saving money on custom pushrods.

What do ya think?
I hope your still doing the rebuild.

Actually.... Plans have changed. I still have that engine, but i'll be modifying it's heads for sure, and keeping parts for spares etc.

I've got parts coming to me this weekend, but i can't start on it till i have a custom computer with new fuel tables....

he wouldnt necessarily have to change the pushrod length if he has the stock rockers will he?

If i had a cam regrind, they grind it down smaller, for the shape of the lobes. Longer pushrods would be required to get the full desired lift.

I understand why you need longer push rods but y not instead of changing the distance from the cam lobe to the rocker by altering the length of the pushrod, mill/deck (take material off the base of the head) to alter the distance from the cam lobe to the rocker.
You'd be raising the compression. This is just a thought, i have no idea how much you would have to deck the head or if you could do it safely. I'm sure you can find someone that could tell you wether this would safely work or not.

Do ya know what i mean?

i was thinking of a new cam. If he raised his compression he would have to run premium fuel.
