More low end?

More low end?
Quick question. All the mods that I have in my signature seem to bring up the high end RPM torque, but what about the low? I'd imagine FWI and PCM would help a little. Is there anything you can do on an n/a 3800 to get more low end? I'm tired of driving my g/f'* 95 intrepid w/ 3.3 and being able to hop on it and get out wherever I need to be. My car beats hers after 20 MPH no question about it, but I really want low end for getting around traffic, and maybe it will bring an ability to lay some rubber when I want to lol. Her car lays marks completely unintentionally... I just did it last nite :P.
Another thing I like about her car is the transmission. It does shift somewhat slow, but it knows when to downshift going up hills and passing without putting 60% throttle or more just for a tc unlock. Does the Intense PCM change anything with the trans other than 6k shifts?

I have an 88 lesabre T-Type and i also dont like how far you have to push the pedal to get it to downshift. you could probably have the upshift and downshift points changed since it is an 4t65e

Adjusting shift points doesn't affect the RPM that your horsepower or torque peaks at.
Your T-Type can be adjusted to kick down easier though, by adjusting your kickdown cable.
The L36 doesn't have a bad bottom end, it was specifically designed and built for higher end horsepower though, as opposed to the Series 1 which was intended to be a torquer.

well almost all the mod i made gave me low end but getting cold air in is what a l36 like a lot and you can ajust youre TPS in the teckinfo they say how to

Its hard to Make out the Video..
But If you can glance at the tool... This is how the car was with a High Flow cat.. I think I made that run right before the Shaved Throttle Body..
This is back when the trans was better too.. Just listen to the 1-2 shift.. And look at the speed when I started pulling second gear.. I let off after the 2-3 shift... 89 Mph
I think it has decent Low end for an L36.... But an L27 has a stronger low end.. L27 may take me off the line But I'll catch up in a hurry and run off... Thats where the L36 Shines

Gears make it go
If you want the biggest improvement in low end torque possible, change your final gearing to a lower ratio, like 3.69
With those gears you will be able to lay rubber any time you want to.
That will give you the Intrepid feel. They have much lower gears than you have.

Mmm.. if I were to change gears, that'd mean change trans, right? If I were gonna do that, I think I'd slap a for sale sign on this car and fetch me a 97-99 ssei (for some reason that model year appeals to me) with a low gear ratio. Opens me up to modding heaven lol.

Yes for the gear ratio you have now, you could yank the Trans and change the Drive and driven sprockets to attain a different overall ratio..
If you wanted the 3.29 or 3.33 Ratio then you would have to tear the trans down and swap out the ring gear along with the Diff.. If you have to go that far through it you might just as well rebuild it... Or find a 96-97 3.29 4T60-E..
