hey guys, i have a question for you, i have a jeep cj5, and i dicovered that it has a gm 327 or 350 ( casting number 3970010 ) with points and condensor ignition, my question is can i get a hei distributor and get away from yhe points, i am having a heck of a time getting spark out of it. thanks in advance

Hi and Welcome to the forum!
Yes you can. The only issue that you might run into is that the hei dist is a lot larger and it might not clear the firewall. Also, make sure you get one that'* not computer controlled. Easiest way to tell; if it has vacuum advance on the side, its not computer controlled.

one of the first things my dad did to his 70MC was to yank the points/condensor crap off(and store them, along with the original intake) and stuck a nice HEI unit on.
i'm sure if you took a look around the summit racing website, you would find everything you needed pretty quickly.
