$4000.00 (uninstalled without better transaxle) for a non-sc engines a bit cheaper for a SC Bonneville.

For v8 conversion installed and ready to go its $9600.00 this includes a better performance 4t60-e HD transaxle.

If you're starting with a Series 2 L67 (96 and up SC), you can reach pretty close to 300 without too much trouble. Intake, exhaust, chip, smaller pulley. About $800 should do it. Better count on tires, too, cuz you'll need it. It didn't take many mods on my 93 to 'outgrow' my rubber. The new tires really help, but it'* still pretty easy to break them loose.

If you want a reliable 300hp out of a sc series 1 I would say around 3000.00. You are going to want to get port polish.. You know the standard increase flow deals. You can get your cam ground/ billet; a new chip, Smaller sc pulley, trannny cooler limited slip to help your tranny survive. I would say if you built it in phases you could set it up with a reasonable budget. Start by getting an old series 1, now you can rebuild without messing with your ride. Once you have increased flow through the whole system including headers custom or done by a local guy like hector then you are ready to get a polished / improved flow sc. Now with a smaller pulley, a chip, and the right exhaust you will do the 300 without to much problem. You will eventually have to improve your transaxle but other than cost that is the easiest part.

Ty is dead on with his plan. However, if you have a budget similar to mine, you're just gonna have to piece away at it like I am. Check my signature. I've got the L67 Series 1 like you do. Start with the thermostat and extra tranny cooler, then go from there. #2, I'd say intake, but you have to wait until I see if the ADTR fits the series 1. After the intake, #3 would be exhaust. Then chip, pulley, etc.

Default #300HP#

300 HP seems to be the majic # for our cars. It"* not to extreme but will give us excellent performance for a family type sedan. [Sports Sedan] for those so inclined. I've done a considerable amount of research on performance upgrades and I have to agree with Ty. To get to 300HP with a L67 will take 2500-3000 dunneros. For a L36 it'll be 3500-4500 deollars depending on how much of the labor you can do yourself or the relationship you have with your mechanic. You'd be amazed at how much you can save if your up close and personal with your motor guy.

$3500-4000 to get an L36 at 300HP, not really.... It'* harder to get an L67 to make HP since its a roots blower, designed to make torque real low, not HP. Scott Cook (Intense) switched out to a Kenne Bell supercharger I believe and I think yesterday he ran a new best of 11.533, something like that. He was smart and realized that he had gone beyond the potential of the Eaton. ZZP is still trying to go faster with the Eaton. Just tiring seeing people trying to push the Eaton M90 or M62 farther than it was designed for... Whatever.

Yes really...A centrifugal zz performance l36 kit is what the $4000.00 is based on. The other alternatives exist and unless we wait for "wink" someone to make the appropriate mods available cheaper this kit is all the average Joe has. Go price out a thrasher port and polish over 2000.00. Hector you forget the average guy does not have the toys at his fingertips that you do. Thus the 4000.00 mark. I was waiting for Scott to do the twin I know he had been working with lee at least on a verbal level so I figured the twin was in the works. It is not that hard to make it work just money issues would hold the average Joe back. Still the limit is the transaxle. I know they, the 4t60-e and the 4t65-e could be made to handle the 600hp mark but at what cost? I am dying to see the set up Scott runs. I think I am going to be more interested in the transaxles than anything else. Swapping out parts from a 4t80-e might work but I think a whole new transaxle would need to be made to reliable handle 500-600 HP. For racing I am sure a few mods will make the 4t65-e hold up for a run or two...LOL.
