Anyone have the Pacesetters?
Does anyone have the pacesetters installed. I am more interested in how hard they were to install and if I need anything special to do it than in what people'* opinion of the quality is please. Thanks.

Because Echo_SSEi lives near them, he'* scheduled to be the Bonneville Test-fit with his 97 girlie-colored SSEi. Last I heard, it may happen soon.
You'll meet Bob at WCBF this summer. Maybe if we're lucky, he'll have them on the car. I haven't asked about the plans/timeline recently.

Last I spoke with Eric (Saturday night), the 3800 - 2 1/2" collector set is still under development (I am waiting for the 2 1/2" set because I think this will be the best application for my car). Apparently, they were put "on hold" to develop a new set of headears for the Holden based GTOs and some issues had to be reworked for the 2004 models and they are still finalizing them. Eric assured me that when the 2 1/2" set is complete, I will get a call. I am hoping that I will have them on for WCBF '07

No real problems on an H-body for fitment. Header wrap makes it a much harder install. These are a much harder install than any of the other headers with holes really close to the primaries it makes it had to get a wrench on them. The slip fit part of the header is what is the pain in the butt. ZZP expanded one section for the crossover into the Y-pipe but it is too expanded and doesn't go in easily making it a difficult install. Hey, but it doesn't leak once you get it in!! I think in general it is a Pacesetter thing for all the problems that I encountered and not a body style thing. Like I said, the bigger primaries move the bolt holes closer to the wall and it is darn near impossible to get a socket on them so most of the work was getting an open end wrench on them an 1/8 of a turn at a time. After the bolts went in it was a fairly easy finish. The down pipe has a stupid design as far as hole placement is concerned too. It was fairly easy to get into the car and routed around everything as far as fitment is concerned. Actually much easier than a GP because of all the room in the front and behind the engine without having to rock the engine forward like in a GP. Here'* some pics.
