Alot depends on your year and model. There are some differences. Put that in your signature, with any mods you have done already.

Short, i recomend the ADTR intake if you can fit it. It'* at has a topic on the top of the page. Read my first post and it pretty much describes it.

Anyone that makes/ or can make some kind of heat shield/box for the ADTR intake? I know it depends on each car they are different. Just wondering, and also is there a good looking and effective way to make one myself for my intake?

Well.. after I get my tubin and such done.. I was going to build the box by going to a junkyard to find another stock air box.. and simply widenin the back hole ( where the accordian tube goes into ) wide enough to allow the new plumbin to go through and long enough to accomadate engine movements ( when on WOT ).. so it basically looks like a stock airbox with a metal pipe going into it instead of the accordian tube..

on a side note.. would heat shield tape work backwards?? As in if I plaster it on the inside of the airbox to attempt to keep the heat out but not ruinin the stock look? ( the cops around here are really raisin hell and giving tickets for stupid crap around here.. and if I can keep the stock airbox look.. I can just say the old accordian tubing broke so I replaced it with a metal pipe )

Just got my Thrasher CAI for my 01 ssei today. Looks pretty nice, I know I'll have to do some minor cutting to make it fit, but that'* of I've got a dremel tool. I like the fact that its a true CAI kit not like my last car with an open cone kit from RSM racing.

While I'm on the topic, DeathRat, I know an RSM intake when I see one, I'll just leave it at that. Don't mean to offend or anything.

Heat shield, there not too hard to make, you just need to be creative.
Here'* one I made for my Aurora, fit pretty darn good, fit snug against the headliner too.

I don't remember for sure, but doesn't the SLP Airbox fit right in without any modifications at all? If this is the case, it may be a good airbox to consider also.

Thanks TaylorD, that'* the best homemade heatshield I've seen yet. I wish I had the same kind of space to work with. Looks like a great fit.
