Default 07 chevy. Want more power.

Hey guys. I have a 07.5 silverado 5.3 that'* lifted with 35'*. I have a programmer Flowmasters and cold air. My question is what other mods can I do to get this monster running faster? I have looked into pacesetter long tubes, and gears. But I need more details on what exactly these would do and a price range. Also other suggestions would be awesome. Thanks for looking.

The headers will give you better flow. Gears will give you more torque. Have you looked in to tuners? HP tuners works well with GM. That would allow you to change the timing AFR, shift points, you name it.

When I said programmer I meant tuner. I have a diablo but just put on the dialo tune and haven't messed with it. I like the headers but I can't find anyone to put them on since the long tubes don't have cats and aren't legal.

Putting headers on can be a bear. I've never done a set on your setup. On the W-bodies you need to lower the sub frame a bit and modify the fire wall to make room for the O2 sensor. On the H bodies you need to put the O2 sensor on the other side because the power steering lines are in the way. I worked on a Corvette that you couldn't get to some of the spark plugs. If they are made for your body style, they should fit with little modification. Other then that I can't say much.

I knew a guy with a GTO that had that tuner. It'* a bit basic, does the job but not real user friendly. HP tuners is a lap top based software and has a lot of features.

Sweet thanks for the info. So those are basically all the mods I can do without dropping 5k on a supercharged?

The headers ARE legal. You just have to relocate the cats, or live in a non-**** state that doesn't have emissions laws. Luckily where I live in GA they have emissions, but I can program out the codes and lose the cats. Anyway, not the point. Don't go with Pacesetter. I know of a brand that'* cheaper and built better. They come highly recommended around the truck forums.

Also, you can put a cam in your engine, port and polish, add a super charger.

The guy I talked to refused to put them on even of I relocated the cats. Which brings up another question... How much mpg would removing the cats cut back, and what would I gain?

By 07.5 you mean the Actually 07 right? Not the "Classic" that was out that year?

If they won't fit, Google LPP Headers. They're good and good priced.

If he won't put them on, go somewhere else. There is always somebody out there who is willing to do what you want and take your money. Removing the cats will not gain you much honestly.
