Headers: A Man'* Toy
Yeah I was thinking about getting ported manifolds a few months back, but screw it I've secretly been getting ready for what I just finish for the past 2 weeks: SLP Headers.
First off, anyone else do this to a pre 2000 Bonneville? Because it was a PITA! We had to cut off part of a bracket that was holding a small 4" strut that probably absorbed some vibration from the trans. I asked a 2000 owner and they said it wasn't in their car and the GTP owner who helped me doesn't have this. Why must Bonnevilles be such a pain?!?!?
Our guess was this might have been to prevent wheel hop...screw it I'll be fine (fingers crossed).
Otherwise a LOT of tranny fluid spilled out when the trans tube was removed to replace it with the W-body one, so the system was semi-flushed.
Enough of me though, enjoy the pictures!!!!
Using stock CAT for now:
Short extension from CAT to resonator (keeps the sleeper sound):
Next? 3.2" pulley for sure! My boost is down to roughly 9.5 when I went WOT in 2nd at 60mph; used to be 11.5psi...I think. Also gonna move down to Autolite 103 plugs gapped at .050 and finally I need the rear o2 sensor spoof since its throwing a code asking due to no rear o2 even plugged in. It was a bloody mess, but cleaned up nicely in the end....I'll never do it to a Bonneville again.
