Any suggestions?

Hello all! I'm really excited about getting my 95SE this week... It's a nothing special car but I really like it. I've been crusing E-Bay looking at Bonneville stuff and I found the compter chip and cold air kit for it for a cheap price. Is this worth doing? My car has 111K on it and it's really a driver, but I'd like to put a little more spunk in it. What upgrades are worth doing?

post the auctions, im guessing the chip is only about $20, if it is, its junk. it just tricks your pcm for a while, but eventually wears off. we also need to see the cai

:stupid:

The only chips I've seen on eBay are worthless. It only lasts for a little while because your PCM relearns the change.

The ones I saw were the ones on E-Bay for $20. What about the cold air kit?

Remember you will need to built a box around the air filter cause if you don't.. all you will get is Warm air going into your engine.. which defeats the whole point of gettin an air intake system.

A hot air intake is still better than the stock airbox.

Even though they show an air filter there, they don't say you get one. so $28 + $15 s&h, + K&N 4750 ($75) = $120 for a pretty good intake. Add $10 worth of insulation to build a box, It's perfect.

What do you guys think about the mileage on my car? Should I not look to make any performance changes with 111K on it?

Also, can I install a keyless system from a newer Bonniville on my car? Can I install the digital heater control unit listed here?

Is there any advantage to using an SSEi muffler?

I'm rolling up on 180K, and just getting broken in.

You can install the newer keyless, but it's a big hassle. Go with a Viper unit.

I think there's more parts you would need to make that swap possible, If you really want to try it, You'll need the FSM (Factory Service Manual) to figure what wiring you'll need to do and the parts you'll need.

There's no advantage to a used muffler, Pick up a Flowmaster or a Mangaflow meant for a Camaro/Trans Am.
