I installed my INTENSE PCM Friday afternoon and right off the bat I noticed the fans started on earlier (180F), so that made me happy because cooling is very important to me. I let the car run for a good 5-10 minutes to go through its learning process and then took it for a drive. Here'* the deal...I'm jaded by this car'* power and the reason being I bought it just 2 weeks ago, had a pulley on the next week, then installed this PCM a week later. Therefore any improvements are hard to notice because I don't have the time to "feel" for the car'* capabilities. However she does pull harder for longer, which I can't complain about.

Something interesting I discovered, and I'm going to make this aware to Scott, is that my rpms were not raised at first glance. I drove all day and at WOT it kept shifting around 5500rpm. Then today I took it for another drive thinking maybe the PCM had to learn when to shift (yeah, sounded obserd to me...but hey I'm silly). Well in the middle of going down a road I had the idea that maybe when the PCM was programmed without the thought of Normal Shift and Perform Shift button options being included. So I slowed down to about 25mph, pushed the Normal Shift button, and let the gas pedal do the talking. It didn't talk, it SCREAMED! The car took off like a bat out of hell and shifted into 2nd gear between 5900 and 6000rpm. Guess I figued that one out.

I'm gonna have a local decal shop try to make a small sticker to go over the Normal Shift button to say something like "INTENSE shift"

In the 00+ The bonnies are always in performance shift and thus our shifting code is the 1st set of tables (normal). Scott may not be aware that the 96-99 had a performance shift option and may have programmed the 1st set of tables (normal shift) instead of the 2nd set (performance shift). Bring it to his attention via email.

I think they all (DHP & INTENSE) just have generic programming and this just goes to prove it. :?

I honestly don't think its generic programming, and believe its a matter of what they are used to and what most L67/L36 PCM tables are like. As Rogue said, the 00+ Bonnies use the 1st set for perform shift. I don't mind because I'll just leave my car in normal shift mode for now on, but I'll still bring it to Scott'* attention.

Also I gave Scott my VIN and RPO codes, so he knew what my car had under the hood.

Wow you didnt waste time on getting a new pcm, glad to hear you figured out the little shifting bug. I love my pcm and noticed some nice changes in shifting performance and mid to high throttle responce.

Glade you like it Kyle, Your modding like I was when I first got my SSEi, something was getting done every week for a while, You should have Alex do some Rockers for you with the stronger springs, you'll just love the 6K shifts than.

I'm waiting for my PCM now. Glad to hear that things are working OK on it.

I have delayed the rockers, springs and rods for this summer.
Probably do them this winter but....
My power seems very good from 5,000 all the way up to the 6,000 rpm shift 1-2nd and 2nd gear shifts at 5,800 rpm. Does your 2-3rd gear shift at higher than 5.800 ?

I'll check what 2nd to 3rd gets to.

From 1st to 2nd it shifted directly at 5849rpm in a G-tech run. I'll post the findings in another thread.

Also, I asked Scott and he said the fans turn on after shut down only if the engine is above 180F at key-off. Some people were curious.

Correct. The mistake was mine, and I will fix the code, flash a new PCM, and ship it out at our expense on Tuesday.
