KR without Knock> Not even false knock?
I just got an autotap, and have been doing a lot of WOT runs. I did some more last night - with my 2002 Bonneville SSEi.
I had 0-2.5 degrees of KR, with a few spikes to 3-4.4 at upshifts or let off. However, my knock sensor count was zero the whole time!
My understanding is this means no knock was detected by the knock sensors.
The KR also often went down or fluctuated as engine speed, vehical speed, and boost increased.
The car has a 3.25 pulley, TOG headers, thasher CAI, and SLP 1.8 roller rockers with lightweight pushrods.
I had a full tank of Sunoco ultra 94. The outside temps were in the low 70s, and intake temps were mostly between 79-100F.
I had the traction control on (actually can't be totally turned off in SSEi). However, these runs were mostly 2nd gear from 50MPH to 90MPH - with no wheel spin or low traction light.
My boost levels at WOT were between 10-11psi (manifold absolute pressure - barometric pressure * .49). The air-fuel ratio was between 11-12 at WOT. My timing advance was between 8-12 degrees.
