Default K&N Air Filter Power Gain?

I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be worth it to get a k&n air filter to replace my stock. I wouldn't be replacing my air box with the intake and cone filter. This would be installing the rectangular filter in my stock setup. I have an 02 SSEI. Will I feel a power gain or should I just stick with stock. What do you think?

Yes the k&n is a good choice over stock (its what I use). But I would also gut the stock air box and allow it flow the air even better. Also with the 2k+ you can hack a hole in the air box to align with the hole in the fender well that is already there, put a little foam around the hole to help keep out the engine heat.

It'll do some more, but a full intake will give you LOTS more.

Kendra runs a 3.4 pulley stock air box and a K&N, feels slow to me but its better than stock. I think i'm going to move my SLP CAI over to her car when I do my FWI next week.

back on topic...

When I put my intake in my car I got alot of power back, my OEM filter was pretty nasty. I find now though that you need some sort of heat shield otherwise you lose power after the engine gets hot.

Default Thanks!

Thanks! For now I'll go with the regular k&n air filter. When my warrantee runs out I'll definitely look into gutting the air box and running a pipe to a cone filter w/shield. Appreciate it.

you probably can gut the airbox now, I dont think it will affect your warranty.
