I REALLY REAAALY want rear disk breaks. Drums suck. The front rotors go sounth fast because the front disks do all the work. Anyways, why can't I do rear disks. Drums look ghetto in a sports sedan anyways. What is the reason none of you 92-99 guys haven't done it. I'd seriously be willing to invest upwards of $3K to get disks on the rear.

I'm sure you could adapt something for well under $3k. Just make sure you get the proportioning valves off the donor car. Not just the calipers.

Why hasn't anyone done it? The rear drums are the only problem i've ever had with the car. They seem week and wear out the front quicker. Any solutions? All you modded 92-99 still run drums in rear. Does Foghorn? He runs the best times. Are there actually "good" drums. I've seen 12 second classics run with rear drums from 110mph trap speeds. I ran 92mph trap speeds and warped my rotars. This was back almost a year ago when I was stock.

I've had no problems on either of mine with the rear, and I haven't had to do a thing to either of them.

Nor do I have front disc problems on the 93 any longer. The Powerslots and Ceramics solve my problem for much less than a 4-wheel-disc upgrade. Personally, I'm satisfied. Unless someone found an upgrade option that I could get from a wrecker for under $250.

Fanastic88, yes I have a 99 which you might have already known, I really want rear discs too because I've noticed that my drums seems really weak, when I drive hard (having fun safely mind you moderators) my fronts give off this burnt smell but not warped because I haven't felt pulsating yet. And when I set the parking brake, my car rolls forward or backwards silghtly depending on incline. It makes it hard for me to shift into Drive or Reverse because of transmission lock (if that'* the right term), well I asked my bro who is a ASE at Napa if I could convert the rears. He said that I could but it'll screw up the ABS because the ABS is programmed for front discs and rear drums.

Hey, I don't have ABS, my module fried, so theorically I could convert the rears if I wanted to....

But I don't have the experience

Huh? Bill if ceramics work for you they should work for me. You mean ceramic up front right? I drive really hard remember?

GP are disc right couldnt you use the hub rotor calliper and all the parts fom them?

Are you sure your rears are adjusted properly?

I did some hard backwards stops to attempt to "self-adjust" the rear drums. This actually made my chronic front brake squealing tempararily.

As long as you realize, the front is designed to take almost all of the braking load, in any vehicle practically...
My drum brakes are original, self adjusting, they are around 50% now, and work fine..no issues..and they dont cause brake dust on my rims..
there is a few pros and cons..
