Default Exhaust Work

Back in the past I added a Magnaflow highflow catalytic. Having a Series 2, there was some concern about the rear O2 sensor having a mounting location and I ordered the cat with a rear bung. As you can see from the picture the Magnaflow'* are much smaller than our originals and there'* no need to cut anywhere near the stock O2 location. We can also see the hole in the catalytic.

Seeing that there is something missing in front of the cat we see the studs that are part of the flange usually welded to the cat. Four small nuts and off comes the down pipe where it mounts to the catalytic.

How you think I feel, Scott? I'm missing a supercharger plus all those mods he did...so you're luckier than I am...

Bill what does the butt dyno read. I have friends who can get me a good deal on exhaust work and I am considering going with a 3" down pipe. (with some new mufflers )

The butt dyno didn't get a lot of runs. Things aren't fully seated yet, meaning I need to take care of one or two small rub spots.

Also.. let'* remember, we don't all need to run out and do the same mods. I'm starting to see it, Willwren has seen it a lot due to the uniqueness of the S1. Don't do something because I do it, do it because you can determine and justify it'* something you want/need to do.

I didn't change my pcm until very recently. Why? It wasn't hurting or holding me back enough to justify it. Don't be a sheep, look for new things..be willing to be different than the herd. You also want to give a mod enough time to prove itself over the long run.

My car is in a sense like Willwren'*.. it'* a test in progress, that is still running a gutted factory airbox with a 3.2 pulley and tons of other low cost mods. However...I'm doing things a little differently. Willwren'* car was down and he dd a bunch of stuff at one time, with my car.. it'* a daily driver and running at the end of each day. I'm testing stuff, one part at a time. This provides great data on a part by part basis....it'* compounded for each mod that stays on my car.
