Default cheap chrome job

i was browsing an auto parts store one day and i found this spray on chrome paint. i think this is a cool idea and i was wondering if this stuff is any good. will it just flake off? has anyone tried this stuff? there are lots of parts of a car that would look good in chrome. ide like to know if this any good before i go and destroy anything.

I've got some examples for ya! PlastiKote Bumper Chrome used on the wheels from the wife'* van.

Before:

After (Not he center hub, just the wheel):

Your not gonna win any shows, but it looks pretty good. Works best on large areas, tho. I used some othe "spray chrome" to do a temp repair on my stock fog lights, and it didn't looik as good. Wasn't the same brand, either, tho. I think the other brand was Krylon

MOS, what are you doing in a forum called "Brainstorming"?!?! Get back to the Lounge!!

I've seen some pretty good applications using that chrome paint...not showroom, as MOS said, but his example above is as good as any!!

Nobody loves me no more....

Those wheels I did look suprisingly nice going down the road. Especially considering they are just the standard GM utility type wheels...

They are a nice job, painting wheels does a lot for older sets. I did that to my old nova a couple years back.

those wheels turned out pretty nice. what did you do to prep them, just sanding and primer? and how long ago did you refinish them?

Actually, I jus ground the rust off. No primer (too lazy). I think I did them last month, still looking good. We'll see how they survive the winter. In spring, I plan to do it right, resand everything, prime, paint, and then get them rebalanced.

I dunno.. I'd definitely give a couple of test runs on something else before you attack your wheels. With the wife'* van, she didn't care, but I hated seeing the rust, so it wasn't as critical.
