Default 1.9 rockers question

Read this in another forum does it sound like a fact or opinion " Why would you ever want 1.9'* on the L36? The 1.8'* will produce better gains (not my research, Wizband posted this quite some time ago), and he'll be able to keep his stock springs and retainers. There is NO reason to go with 1.9'* on a L36 that is going to stay naturally aspirated."

sounds like opinion unless you or this dude can show more evidence of his research. The further you go down in rocker ratios, dont you need more supporting mods to actually make them work?

I think the 1.7'* are about the right size....but I've also heard you don't get as much power out of them worth the cost of them? I think that'* what BonneMnMe (Jason) said?

The 1.8 will produce less power, but that additional power comes at a lower RPM. It'* all opinion/preference.

http://www.3800performance.com/Merch...roduct_Count=1 How do these compare to intense gen 3. Also with these do you need to upgrade springs, ect?

Any 1.9 rockers will work with stock springs and stock heads and all that, but I recommend with ANY 1.9 rockers to upgrade at least the springs, if not the pushrods and valve seals at the same time.

Those are the rockers arms we have had in the SSEi since ~70k miles, it now has 135k on it and runs great. (it also has completely stock valvetrain otherwise, stock pushrods, springs, valve seals, but like I said, I don't recommend it) They gave a very noticable gain, and killed all the KR the car had (close to 8 degrees) at the time. They provide almost the same gain as the Intense rockers, the only difference is they aren't roller tip like the Intense ones, and they are possibly heavier??? (don't remember off the top of my head). The horsepower gain would be very marginal between them, maybe a couple horsepower. My dad ran the ZZP 1.91 rockers in his GTP and was the fastest stock cam GTP in the 1/4 mile and highest horsepower GTP until he pulled them out for the cam (his record still stands at this time), and the ZZP rockers were made by the same company that is producing the I-win rockers and obviously both were modified stock rockers so they were pretty much the exact same rockers. Personally, I'd get whichever one is cheaper (don't know or really care what the prices are so maybe the price is close/the same) unless the Intense ones are within like $10-15, if so I'd go with the Intense rockers.

After adding ZZP'* SR rockers, my car gained three to four tenths in the quarter mile. These I think are 1.8.1 on the intake side and 1.85 on the exhaust side. Power is good, but untill I opened up the exhaust fron 2.25 to 2.50; then you may not feel it. The engine we must remember is a giant air pump.

INTENSE'* rockers are made by the best rocker manufacturer in the world, Harland Sharp. Lightweight, and rollertipped you can expect 30 horsepower at the crank with 1.9'* as well as faster reving. The gains of any higher ratio rocker will be on the upper end of the rpm band. For this reason you will want an aftermarket PCM that raises shift points. Rockers on a stock PCM'd car are not worth it in my opinion.
