Superchip or JET II?
I need to know, bottom line, what chip is better. I know superchip is about $300 and takes into account all the computer information before sending it out. But it also does not take away the speed limiter, which isn't that big of a deal. But superchip claims 20+HP and 27+ft/lbs torque. Is this true? Does anyone have any experience with this.
I am also considering JET stage II chip. I have a 2.5" cat back stainless steel dynomax exhaust and new cone air intake. I am also planning on getting a 180 degree thermostat. I know JET takes into account all of these mods and superchip does not. What do you guys think about the JET II. Any personal experience with it would really help.
Give me good and bad info on both chips. I need to make a decision soon. I want to get one of them in the car. Really all it comes down to is which one gives you the most power? Post your opinions!

I really don't know much about those chips.. but I"m simply awaiting for DHP to release their chips for the Bonneville. I have heard nothing but excellent reviews of DHP chip to everyone elses.. so I might personally hold off on the chip until then. Besides.. it'* best to get all your major mods done first before getting the chip since most if not all modified chips have to be reburned again to accomadate additional hop ups and mods you included after

What model of Bonneville do you have? SE, SSE, SLE, SSEi, and what year? and if it is NA or SC.
Drifter is right on. I know there is also a DHP (digital Horse Power) chip that is availble for some Bonnevilles with others supposedly in development. The more mods you have done first, the more you'll get out of the chip.
From what I understand, the chips that make use of mods are generally better, both in hp and in how smoothly it runs. I don't have any details on these but I would be interseted in what you find.

I'm ordering a Stage 2 Jet from Hector, and I know Turtle_SSE already has a Jet, but I don't know if it'* Stage 1 or Stage 2. I ran my performance times pre-chipped last night so I'd know what the chip actually gets me. You can see that post here;

95 is right, Jet reccommends before using the Stage 2 chip that you modify intake, exhaust, and go with the 180° Thermostat FIRST. The Stage 2 chip is designed to take advantage of these mods, the Stage 1 is for stock cars. Allmachtige runs the superchip, and isn't impressed....he may be able to tell you more.

I have a 94 ssei. I am leaning toward superchip. It seems that they make a chip more suited to my specific vehicle because they incorporate the computer code in with the chip. Also, they advertise a higher HP gain and torque gain. But tell me more about DHP chip. What is their web site and does anyone know when and if a chip is available for my car?

No offence to anyone.. nor is it mean to offend anyone.. but I"ll believe when I see it dynoed. On paper... I can come up with equations and all to give me what I can do with my car ( including warp speed ).. but again.. that'* thru math and calculations.. it doesn't include any of the variables of real life. It seems like quite a big increase from just a chip..still sceptical... would you feel it on your pants... probably... but 30 hp?? That'* just about the same as doing intake and exhaust power increase from a chip

Hector said the same thing in an email to me......I told him Jet claims as much as 50hp on SC engines. Yeah, maybe 500CI big blocks with Blowzillas stacked on top. I think Hector said something like 17-25hp is more reasonable......don't quote me.

I agree, I need to see some of this on paper. My superchip gave me a "meh" reaction and felt like some of my money was wasted...doesnt take advantage of mods and still has limiter. Jet Stage2 sounds nice, but still there is a limiter. I have no idea whats so different and great about these DHP chips. Someone wanna fill me in on DHP please?
