93 SSE looking for wires/plugs/etc recomendation
 

Have a totally stock 93, and while Im doing some interior work I want to investigate some mods to the motor. I have been reading here about replacing the coil, but dont know what that buys me and there seems to be none available for this model.
My amature plan so far includes upgrading the battery, cables, and alternator (power for new sound gear); new plugs and wires, computer upgrade?
ideas and guidance welcome.

MSD 8224 coils will give you a slight improvement in the mid-range. Jegs.com has them. Direct bolt-on.

Autolite professional or Belden premium wires.

www.mralternator.com go for the 140 amp unless you're planning a HUGE system. Your car has a 105 amp stock.

Optima red top. Stay away from the yellow top unless it's a SECOND battery behind an isolator.

www.jetchip.com has a chip for your car.

Think about the brakes. Extra power will dictate a brake upgrade very soon. Do the 180° thermostat, possibly drilled (where do you live?), and a full tuneup before anything else.

Intake, exhaust, and the thermostat would be pre-requisites to the chip.

Live in the San Fernando Valley area of LosAngeles. Heat is the main factor, never have to worry about cold much lower than 35, but heat in the low hundreds every year.

Have been looking at breaks, any preference to drilled or slotted? Also, wonder if there is any way to get disks on the rear... have heard that I cant.

By intake to you mean the forced air like I have seen on your pics?

RSM slots are great brakes, I talk about them often so searching them here should be easy.

I run Delco plugs and Belden wires, Very nice.

Slotted, not drilled rotors. Rear conversion to disc hasn't happened yet, and probably isn't worth the expense and trouble on most cars. The closest and most affordable copy of my intake would be the 'rice pipe' option in Performance and Brainstorming. Should be on the first page.

San Fernando? I'd put in a 180° thermostat with two 1/16" holes drilled in it, and add a trans cooler if you don't already have one, but your 93 SSE should have an aux cooler already in front of the rad. I added ANOTHER to mine, right in front of it for $40.

where can i buy Beldin Premium wires and how much are they going to set me back?
i just realized that i have stock plugs and wires on my car and am going to put in some platinum plus 4's
and was wondering what type of wires were the best to run looking for "performance" wires.
and Beldin Premium just sounds fast, but where can i buy em' and how much are they going to cost?

Either belden or autolite professional. Any auto parts store should have one or the other. Don't run Bosch plugs at ALL. Bad news. The vast majority of us that have run them in the 3800 have had poor results and premature failures.

Either NGK or AC Delco plugs (NGK makes them for GM).

what type of ngk should i run?
i have no performance done at all and am not really looking towards mixing myself up with "hotter" or "colder" plugs. just looking for somethin that is going to give me better performance
where can i buy NGK at?

NGK TR55 at Napa. I know they carry them. Gap at .055".

i am looking into NGK plugs now which should i get should i get the v power the platinum the iridium there are too many of the same plug haha
im thinking my choices are narrowed down to either the platinum or the irridium
just lookin for some input from the "pros"
