Default 6 speed manual with a supercharged 3.8

I'm trying to find out if the bellhousing from a 3800 V6 in sa a Camaro or Firebird will bolt to a 6 speed manual trans out of a SS or Trans Am. Any ideas about this engine trans combo would be appreciated.

Not one bit unfortunately.

However, the 5-speed in V6 Firebird/Camaros uses the GM V6 bolt pattern.

However, im sure there is an aftermarket solution to bolt the T56 to a V6, however money wise, I dont see it being a worthwhile investment

No I have a 1970 Opel GT that I'm Building and I was thinking about a supercharged 3800 out of a GTP or SSE and I'm wondering if the V6 bellhousing will bolt to the T56 trans or if the bolt pattern is different.

Well, there are a number of reasons that the supercharged 3800 never made it to the F-body... but the biggest reason is that the Supercharger on the 3800 opens to the "rear" of the engine. This would be a major issue on the F-body... and I'd bet it would be on a Opel GT, as well.

Granted, there are probably some custom aftermarket solutions out there, so anything can be done... but I wanted to ensure that you were aware of this.

Would it be possible to use the m90 from a Cougar or Thunderbird? They are RWD cars. I dont know much about them but its a thought.

i would find a wrecked lt1 or ls camaro or firebird with the t56 and you would have nearly everything you would need to swap.

you would also have room for upgrades if 290- 350hp isnt enough

The swap is going into the Opel, I don't want to use a V-8 just the trans. Fewer body modifications.

From Wikipedia:
Though the pre-3800 RWD V6 uses the BOP bellhousing pattern that it inherited from its aluminum V8 ancestor, an oddity of both the FWD and RWD 3800 V6 is that although it is a 90° V6, it uses the GM 60° V6 bell housing. For use in the RWD applications, the bellhousings on both the manual and automatic transmissions are altered slightly.

Your best bet may be to have a custom one made, if there isn't one available already. I think the Aussies where able to get a 3800 / T56 option, perhaps you could source a bellhousing from there. It'* a shame the v6 t-5 bellhousing won't fit on a t-56, there'* plenty of those to be found.

Forgot to mention that there may be issues with input shaft / center bearing / throwout bearing / clutch fork / and other dimensions. Make sure you can account for those somehow. I'd imagine if you could fab all this up you could make a lot of money with the camaro fans wanting to put a t56 behind their v6s.

If you dig around some aussie forums you can find some holdens that use the same blower but use a different lower intake and an air to air intercooler. Some people will ship to the USA. I still would like to do this to a chevette.
